Yep!! That’s exactly the quote I was thinking of when I typed that response. :P Besides, it was the studio’s choice to make Judy wear “blackface”, not hers.

Another point: there are several quotes where Judy speaks out against racism, and during the 60s she supported the marches for civil rights. This renders the argument invalid. :P

HMMPH! This has happened to me a couple times.
You have to remember that at that time, blackface was not considered racist and it wasn’t meant to be that way. It needs to be viewed historically and not in the context of today. Also, it’s like putting paint all over your face, you probably wouldn’t like putting it on either.
